After the long heavy couple of months we have had, I think we all need to remember the importance of supporting small businesses and help keep them thriving.
Today we will be looking into a local cafe in Chachoengsao, Thailand. If you’re into finding hidden gems around local cities while you’re on holiday, then you’ll definitely appreciate the likes of this place!
Chachoengsao is a local town in Thailand, about one and a half hours away from the large city of Bangkok. If you’ve ever lived in Thailand or plan to live there long term, as a teacher for example, then it’s worth visiting this cute town and cafe.
Not only is Mood and Tone a perfect cafe to go to sip your morning coffee, and maybe get some quiet work done, but the owners are the reason to keep coming back. I have had the pleasure of getting to know the owner of the cafe, Manoi, the sweetest and most caring man you will ever find.
We were all very fortunate to have this experience and, as much as we loved the food and drink, we loved the company even more.
Now, let’s get into the yummy!
First and foremost, this one is for my coffee lovers.
Mood and Tone has lots of varieties of coffee beans that you can taste. They have a section for it in the cafe and guide you through the differences between them. I personally love this as I’m a fan of coffee and love exploring different bean kinds from around the world.
They also have an amazing menu of iced coffees, frappuccinos, and hot coffee to order from. My favorite will always be a mocha due to my unhealthy obsession with chocolate (some say that mocha isn’t real coffee but I beg to differ). Manoi makes the best iced-coffee and knows how to make it extra special for me, as it comes out looking like a milkshake but has just the right amount of buzz to get you ready for the day. So get yourself to Mood and Tone and drown yourself in delicious caffeine!
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Even if you love to sleep in and have a couple more hours to snooze, the breakfast menu is in past hours.
So grab your sleepy self and order the big juicy breaky! The breakfast/brunch is absolutely mouth-watering, and I order it the most out of anything else on the menu. You can never go wrong with eggs, sausages, and pancakes, mmm.
Manoi will make sure to make your breakfast perfect for you, with plenty of options between scrambled, poached, or fried eggs. The world is your oyster. The breakfast menu has the option of choosing between toast and pancakes to accompany the sausages and eggs. Personally, when I’m feeling a little greedy, I prefer the pancakes so that I get all my calorie intake in one go.
This breakfast menu is a perfect option if you have been feeling a little homesick and want a piece of home right in your mouth.
The best thing about Mood and Tone is that it varies between Western and Thai food. The creamy omelet is another popular order and it sure is worth it! There are more than one creamy omelet options to order from, but the one that stood out for me, being a cheese lover, was the creamy omelet with baked rice, garlic and butter topped with fried chicken, parmesan, and mozzarella cheese. I mean, if that on its own doesn’t make you want to book yourself a flight to Thailand, then I don’t know what will.
All jokes aside, I love this dish and have become obsessed with having eggs with rice on the regular. The baked rice is completely covered by the cheesy omelet in a perfect display, waiting for you to jump right in.
Last but not least, out of my top 4 favorites, is fried chicken spaghetti carbonara.
This is to all my carb and cream lovers. I do love a carbonara, and I’m sure a lot of you do too. This is a great option for an evening dish, after a hard day at work, or for enjoying an evening with your friend or partner – it’ll definitely do the trick.
Manoi has many protein options you can choose to have with this dish. You can choose between fried chicken, bacon, or without meat at all. I would recommend the fried chicken the most as it gives the carbonara the most flavor. Everything is cooked perfectly and thoroughly, leaving your stomach craving for more.
For a minute you’ll be in Thailand, but your belly will be rumbling thinking it's in Italy! If that sounds good to you, then head over to Mood and Tone to get your quick fix of pasta.
I've come to enjoy traveling and visiting the local towns of major popular countries. It is interesting to meet the locals and see how they live their everyday life. This cafe is situated in the middle of the city, and you can also explore cute places around it.
Chachoengsao is a popular town for westerners to move to and become English teachers. Mood and Tone is one of the most popular cafes in the town, so definitely check it out when you have the chance.
